How many people use the Custom Names? i do, a lot....i rename every single contact.

Also, i change the color of my contacts based on what they mean to me. Work or Friends or Family and so on.

A great feature would be to be able to sort your contact list by Color!!!!

anyone else thought of this? i think it would be awesome

jut put colors in different groups and then you'll have same colors together

It's due to the way the Custom names work. Behind the names, Messenger is ordering the contacts by e-mail address. Since Plus! doesn't interfere with the way Messenger works, there's only one possible order: by e-mail address.

Basically, it's a technical limitation with no workaround. If there was one, it'll have already been done.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

Good news is that it will be able with WLM8!

WLM includes a feature called "Quick Name" (free translation ) which let the user rename his/her contacts' names [u]and sort them on that name[u]. With the upcoming MP!L, you can use colors in WLM so also in the Quick Name. And there you have it: you're contact list sorted on colors! You just have to wait 'till this summer...

Yeah, I read that too from another post by Menthix.
Even, there is a possibility that there will be no custom names feature in the next version of Plus!.

The big question is, is it possible to "import" Plus! custom names to WLM?
It is pain in the butt to rename the all contacts again...
