Ive been unable to sign into Messenger all afternoon since about 3pm west australia time, is there a server issue for some accounts, if not can someone give me assistance plz, ive re-installed, repaired, connection trouble shoot but it just wont log in

The server maybe down for your area. However you can try X-Servers to connect to a different server

Edit: I downloaded the WLM Server program, but it still comes up that it is unable to access messenger beta 8.0 at this time try again later, its bein saying that since 3pm...ive now also done a repair, it still wont login anymore ideas?

Edit 2: I have tried other email addies... I have also tried turning off all of my antiviruses to see if they were the issue but they didnt seem to be the issue

Edit 3: When i had a bit of a look at the messenger sign in process, i noticed that it changes the amount of ***** compared to how many there are actually in your password, is this normal?

I have been on WLM in Western Australia all day today with no issue. Are you getting some kind of error message?

No error message comes up at all, just tellin me that it cant login to messenger 8.0 beta at this time and to do troubleshoot, which i have done many times, and its found no problems

Also would anyone know what msn_sl.exe is?? it continuesly opens when i open Windows Live Messenger...

No, idea it could be a virus, not sure mind you Did you download anything odd, the last few days?

i did a virus scan this afternoon, all i downloaded was a-patch which i installed, then un did and repaired messenger, it worked afterwards but then it shut down, but i did a virus scan through Windows Defender and AVG, so i dont think it would be a virus

I believe it has something to do with the MSN toolbar, do you have it installed?

ive got the Windows Live Toolbar installed yes

Do you both think i should do a System Restore to yesterday to see if it fixes anything??
