RE: What Is Your Dream Computer?
My dream computer?
One where you didn't have to poke the fan with a pencil to get the computer to boot.
One that didn't take 30 minutes to get the monitor warmed up.
One that I could save a file on and it would still be there the next day.
One that shuts down fully, instead of just half-shutting down then shouting at me tomorrow.
One that, although you've poked the fan, wouldn't overheat even with the case on.
One that you couldn't happily fry eggs on if it weren't for the dust.
One with a CD-writer that actually writes to CDs instead of just destroying them. Or if that's too much, a 'sorry' after each destroyed CD-R would be nice.
One that didn't occasionally make the monitor flicker red, green and blue.
One that I can hear music from, from both speakers at the same time. At least with one pair of my speakers.
One that wouldn't give me random incomprehensible errors whenever something goes wrong. (Could someone let me know what NTLDR is, please??)
One that would work one day and continue to work the next, especially when I haven't done anything to it the previous day.
One that works with updated versions of software (such as Outlook Express 6 with my Hotmail address) as well as the previous versions.
One that doesn't crash every half hour. Oh no, that's Microsoft, isn't it...
One that can multitask. But, failing that, one that can run one program within 5 minutes of closing another.
One where a 56kbps modem can connect to the internet somewhere vaguely near 56kbps, rather than half of it.
Don't care about the specifications. Just something that would do all of the above.
Hmm. Sounds like most of you already have my dream computer.
You lucky, lucky people.
