Hi I put a dvd in my laptop, tryed to play it on WM.....but then it said you need a plug-in.
I thought ohh..well thats easy i will just download the plug-in. It turns out you have to pay for it.

So if you know anygood free DVD players could you please post.
( I don't really want to pay )

Doesnt DivX play DVDs Im not sure though sorry.

WinDvD i think has a free version  WinDvD Player

I think u dont need any plugin to play a dvd on wmp. Make sure u have a dvd rom.
But if it doesnt work. Try iTunes.

Well, Media Player Classic can play, if you still can't then I'll suggets downloading K-Lite Codec Pack, the full version is the only one with DVD decoders. With this you'll be able to play DVDs on your computer.

Like YottabyteWIzard said, you need a DVD decoder.

To play  DVD in Windows Media Player, you need a DVD Decoder (software). You might have gotten one free with your video card, check the bundles software.

You can play DVDs using VLC media player. You wont need a DVD decoder to play DVDs in VLC.

VLC == free software to play DVDs (and lots of other things)

PS codec packs are shit
