Give it some time. He said they are looking for a fix so odds are this might take a little while.
The future holds bright things in it\\\'s path, but only time will tell what they are and where they come from.

RE: Sound Servers are Offline
Well, I have a suggestion for a fix, don't send the sounds from a server. Store them on the hard drive and send them P2P, and maybe have the server do the random sound function and maybe translate the sound names into their hex id numbers.

RE: Sound Servers are Offline
People who use a lot of custom sounds... would then waste a lot of memory on the computer... The only decent way to do that would be to put them in a temp folder so they only stay there for a little while... Servers will help limit the abuse on the system, and let the programmer about how widely used the feature is.

The problem with that is P2P is notoriously unreliable and there is no easy way to ensure that sounds are transmitted successfully. So it will either work or not for some people. In this case the Server side solution is the most versatile and best option.
Server is back online now, Were battling some failing hardware at the moment. We should have everything strightened out by monday.

Can't you just send the sound data via tcp/ip just like a message instead of having to go through those servers?
