Do you mean when you boot is asks  ou to choose your Operating system? then it countdowns.
If so its just left the name of the OS behing meaning you don't have the files or anything.

Not always true. There may be a 2 folders named WINDOWS (obviously one will be slightly different, i.e. WINDOWS1 or something similar) located in the C:/ drive. you need to determine which is the correct folder and remove the other one.
The other option is you can format your drive again and reinstall Windows

I'm double posting as you'll find it easier to do in seperate posts.
If you do want to delete the botscreen start up.
do the following:
Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery "Settings">In the "System Startup" click the edit button.>
It should then open notepad and you should see soemthing like this:

Make sure you delete the one that doesn't work other wise youre fucked :P and i'll take no responisbiltiy of what happens. Don't be put off though.
When you boot up if say the "second" one doesnt work then you are safe to say its ok to delete the second one ;)

That is only to remove it from the boot screen and not remove it from the HDD.

Yes, but you need to make sure you are deleting the right one.

OK, and you deleted the earliest created one then. If it still asks you what OS to choose, then follow what Nathan posted
