Hello

I've recently re-installed Messenger 7.5.0324 but now when contact comes online or a new message is recieved.. I don't get any sound alert. Just silence.

I have checked the Sounds & Alert options.. all of it's ticked.

When I go into the computer sound device settings.. the list of sounds, there is no sounds of MSN Messenger.. only Windows Messenger.

I am using a clean version with MSN Plus installed.

Go to C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger and check that there should be 6 *.wav files.

Also check this-

All 6 sound wavs are there.. and I also changed it to Windows Default sounds but no change.

I think this is silly but is your speaker connected/switched on?

All my other sounds work fine.. Playing music right now.. just the MSN Messenger sounds are not working.

This pic shows that the MSN Messenger sounds don't even show.. you can't scroll down any further.. where are they?

Forgot to mention that this problem started after I uninstalled the latest Messenger Live version... it didn't work for me so I went back to 7.5 but ever since I installed 7.5 again.. theres no sound.

Yeah what Sunshine posted is probably how I solved this problem: It is a known bug which occurs when uninstall WLM then reinstalling MSN75.

I was gonna post the regedit code I used to fix this... but I lost it.
