Well I was running the beta of windows live messenger and yesterday Upgraded to the full released one. I don't use a lot of the little gadget-y features, that come with msn... but overall the new edition seems fine. Quite nice. EXCEPT...(!!) for the annoying little noises!! I'm not entirely sure what prompts them but I think it might be contacts signing in and out...? If anybody here knows, or even better knows how to disable them, please share. Thanks!!

Tools>Options>Alerts & Sounds> and untick the sounds that you dont want to hear or simply change them and hit apply

The Messenger team seems to have changed the way the sounds are handled: they're handled now by WLM itself, rather than being in Control Panel > Sounds.

Ahh thanks! Lol you'd think I'd think to check there. Nevermind, all sorted now!

They changed the location without telling anyone. I don't remember any mention in the WLM changelog anywhere.

The new sounds are revamped versions of the old ones. I'm trying to decide which ones I like better though .

I really like the new ones... It's nice to have some change in the program like that in my opinion... For some people it'll just take a little getting used to I guess.

yeah the new ones are cool and is good they change them, and thank God no more MI:3 advertising
