O.P. ASUS P4S800 + Front Pannel
Hello everyone.
Here's the thing, I have a front pannel on my case with 2 Usb ports and 1 Microphone / Hearphones jack..
It never worked, I guess the guys at the computer store (who were quite stupid) set it up incorrectly.. So I'm here begging for help, because I don't know what jumpers to connect / where ..
I've searched on Google and I haven't found anything useful ..
Oh by the way, my motherboard is Asus P4S800
Thanks everyone!

RE: ASUS P4S800 + Front Pannel
i have just set mine up - havent yet been able to check it as have not finished building the PC
i have the ASUS DELUXE P4C800 motheroard so im guessing it is similar.
if you have the manual life will be easier - do you have it/
on the cables it may say one hting but the manual may have other things labelled. a small thing:
1 +d = usb_p6+
1 -d = usb_p6-
1+vcc = usb+6v
2 +d = usb_p5+
2 -d = usb_p5-
2+vcc = usb+5v
one of those (either the left or right) will be written on the cables. and the other may be written in your manual/on your motherboard
this may help - but reall yyou need the manual or a copy of the pages

RE: ASUS P4S800 + Front Pannel
they should alreay be connected to yor front panel, the cables already running?
usually they are round and of a light colour (ie: cream)

I have a P4P800 I will take pictures of mine and how its connected for you.
Shows where the USB on the front panel plugs into the motherboard (on mine)
Again shows where the USB on the front panel plugs into the motherboard (on mine) (beige thicker cable)
Are the cables from the front panel that go through the back of the PC and should plug into the soundcard
Shows where the cables come from for the front panel.

these are not always the right cables, on my front panel they are just the same cables as the USB but with different labelligs and connect to my motherboard, so that picture MAY nt be any use if the cables are different - all depends on the front panel installed to oyur case

Ok Guys, I realised how dumb I was being and got everything UP and Running, thanks for your help .. Except from the f*cking Microphone IN
Nothing is recorded when I try to use it on Windows Audio Recorder .. And yes, Microphone 'Mute' check box is unchecked on the Volume Properties ..
Oh and by the way, I'm using the onboard soundcard (5.1 with SoundMax drivers) which means that I have a cable connected from the motherboard itself to the front panel

On mine, if I use 5.1 audio, I can't use any microphone. There are three audio jacks. If I use 5.1, they become front, rear and subwoofer. If I just use stereo, then the jacks are microphone, speakers, and something-I-don't-know (not respectively).
