Okay i might just be being slow.... but i just noticed after signing in that i received a message whilst offline.... nothing new here ..... so i opened up the conversation window that had aperead and read the message then closed the coversation at looked at my contact list

i then realised that there was a new icon in my dashboard... a speech icon with a 1 in brackets next to it

this was to show i had new offline messages! now ive never noticed this before but i took a screenshot and i duno whether any of you have seen it or not but thought i should say sumyin about it!!

take a look at the screenie!

Yes I get that. You can change it in options to not come up in a window, just in the bar at the top. Annoyingly, even when any new OIMs have come up in a new window, they still seem to be in my bar above my contact list, but don't do anything when I click them! Bugs (computer and the insect variety).

hmm thats what i thought seeming as i had the option to make OIMs come up in the contact window

that and the fact that when i clicked the button nothing happened

Went away once i had signed out nd bk in again tho..... and dam those bugs of all kinds

That button has been there ever since MSNM 7.0.0604, before WLM had even come out but the button had to be activated and clicking it wouldn't do anything see this -> http://www.messenger-blog.com/?p=103

I'm not sure it's a bug: if the OIMs are stored until you sign out again, then the behaviour's by design

i would have thought it was a bug as, when clicked, it doesnt bring up the OIM and it doesnt change the number next to the button.
