I just thought of something...

I've no idea if this is a problem or not, but in WLM you can rename contacts to whatever you like, yes? And so, if they had MP!L, and were using a personalised status, would I be unable to see that in the name because of my rename?

I don't have Messenger Plus! Live, and don't know anyone who does, so I don't know if this is a problem. If it is, could the new status be pushed into the Personal Message to allow us to see it?

It is included by the sides of the (Away) parts etc. in the contact list.

You won't be able to see the (Status) bit, no. As traxor said, you will be able to tell the status from the buddy icon and if you open a conversation the personalised status will show at the top of that window.

That's good to hear - even if I can't see them straight away, I'd like to see them in the convo window. Thanks for the fast reply!

Confirmed: the Personalised Status is indeed hidden.
Maybe support for a tag in the nickname is needed?

Wow... An idea of mine actually getting somewhere... I've always wanted that to happen

I'll be interested to see how this is fixed/worked-around, if it ever is.
