for some reason since 2 days ago, firefox started taking up full cpu if its running for more than an hour. i dont know what might've caused it since the only thing i did was install minefield (deer park) beta on a different pc that day

have you tried reinstalling?
Some file may have gotten corrupted.

how many tabs do you have opened?

1 or 2

an if you have a second opened. does this site usually contain Flash in it?  or any other type of player?

how many extensions do you have? , a extension could be fuxxing up and causing this
