O.P. Vista Version number off of desktop
Does anyone know how to remove the Version number and information off of the Windows Vista beta 2 desktop?  I would like to remove this:

Windows Vista (TM) Beta2
Evaluation copy. Build 5384

Thanks

hmmm can't seem to find it anywhere in the control panel, went into the registry and the value was already set to 0, however its still displaying which is weird. I know because it is still beta, Microsoft really wants to stick the version info there, but I plan on using this version of Vista for quite some time, and i'd really like it gone :P

On debug versions of windows, the option is ignored and it is shown regardless.

Not unless you change the Windows code itself.

That may be on the desktop image, did you try changing the background image?

If you really don't like it, you can hide it by using a similarly coloured desktop or wallpaper.
