Hi, I installed Messenger plus live and it is really great but I have a little problem, my contacts that still use Messenger Plus 3 can't see the color on my nickname but I do see the color on their nicknames, is this a bug or an incompatibility problem?

the color codes between 4 and 3 are different, either ask them for their color codes or get them to upgrade

If you are using BBCode's in your name then they won't see this. However if you use the (old) IRC tags instead they will . You can tell Plus! to use IRC tags for all its automated features by changing this setting in the preferences.

if you a using the codes with teh dot and the $ then people with  Plus!3 will be able to see your colour, however, if you are using the mybb coding, then only people with Plus!Live 4.0 and above(when they are made) will beable to see it

this is a backwards compatability issue, which is simply not fixable with out releasing more updates for plus!3, which will not be happening

how I can get the IRC color codes?

If you can't be bothered finding out what the irc codes ar that you need then just direct your friends to http://mesenger.live.com for WLM and to http://www.msgpluslive.net for MP!L and that way they can enjoy all the new stuff too

but I have some friends who still use windows 98, don't ask, even I don't know why is that so they can't install Windows Live Messenger so Messenger Plus Live would be useless for them

WLM is only compatable with Windows XP and above

Start a new thread in this section of the forum explaining everything that is going on and people will help.  Please use the search feature first though to make sure it isn't answred somewhere else already.

is there a way that when you select to use the irc codes the color box in the tool bar when you click on a color it gives the irc code? is just that even if you have enabled use the irc tags when you click on a color in the color box in the toolbar it keeps giving the bbs code color, even though the Ctrl-K shortcut works properly
