im having a problem with my msn i cant seem to fix. Firstly when i sign on i cant veiw other people display pics(and they cant display mine either) and it wont let me send or recieve files.
I've ticked the appropriate boxes in the msn options menu but i still have the problem
Im on Windows Live Messenger and im using WLM plus if thats any help. A few of my friends have the same msn set up as me and they're not having any problems ?

any suggestions ?

Try reinstalling?... or if it just started occuring recently it could be server issues in your area.

Do you happen to be using Zone Alarm? If so check this article:

if it isnt anything to do with zone alarm or server problems, try this:

Go To The main MSN/WLM window and do the following:

Tools > Options > Personal > Show My Display Picture And Allow Others Too See It.

And

Tools > Options > General > Show Display Pictures From Others
then click apply,

Hope this solves your problem

Would un installing Zone alrm and using another firewall help with my problem ?

If you don't want to do what RebelSean said, then yes. But I'm sure nothing will happen, it's perfectly safe.
