I recently backed up a DVD, Toy Story. Here, I have two pictures, which one is from the original DVD, and which one is from the compressed?



I know, they're jpgs but it will have to do (couldn't do .png).

I say it's bq0.jpg. If you zoom in on Woody's fingers, they are clearly more defined.

Plus the second image's filesize is smaller, and therefore, compressed.

I agrree, it's the first.

I will tell everyone the answer after a few more posts/votes.

Fist picture. it's not just the fingers..but the whole picture has an overall difference which can be seen if analysed carefully.

Look at the lighting on buzz's helmet.

First picture.

If you compare, you can see the colour on Buzz's costume is more brighter and colourful in the first picture. In the second, it's more dull.

The screen shot which came from the original is... number 2.

I used DVD-Rebuilder with HCenc and HybridFuPP to do it. Out of everyone who I've asked, only one has chosen picture 2, lordy.

Everyone (except shawnz) thinks picture 1 is the original because it looks clearer. That is not right, as you can see. HCenc did the compressing, leaving as many of the artifacts/mess out of it, while HybridFuPP cleaned it all up.
