O.P. Windows Messenger 5.1 - Can click links in typing box, but not chat area.

Not sure when this started, but I just noticed it today. A friend that I was chatting with put up a link, and I couldn't click it; it was just standard text. However, when I copy/paste it into my typing box, it then becomes clickable. Same goes for link that I put up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

apparently the links have been made non-clickable in version 5.1 of windows messenger for security reasons, see here:

"Improves security by using the latest secure components. Additionally, URL links are now non-clickable. This behavior is by default."

Edit: I am not sure if this feature can be overridden.

Wow... just found this topic again when I Googled my name. Surprised it's still here.

Might as well ask while I'm here: has that override been found yet?
