I just downloaded msn messenger live because i was still using msn messenger 7.5, and i tried  to download messenger plus! live but it only downloads to 99% and then i get this error message: "Internet Explorer cannot download ...er Plus! Live 4.01.240.exe from www.msgstuff.com.  The connection with the server was reset"

I even tried downloading from a mirror that someone had a link to on one of these forums..... can anyone please help??

Try downloading it from: http://www.msgpluslive.net. That's the official website.

and if that doesn't work, delete your internet cache, then download.

i tried deleting all of my internet temporary files and then downloading again but i still get the same error message

did you manually removed the temporary internet files or did you use the option in MSIE for it? (better use the option in MSIE).

Also, after you've cleared your cache, restart your browser.

Did you downloaded from http://www.msgpluslive.net/ as suggested by traxor? (here is the direct download link)
