I have just upgraded to Windows Messenger Live, and all seems fine so far.


I am planning to format my machine next week, and was wondering how I can backup all my settings, smilies, winks etc...

How does messpatch allow me to backup my settings?

When I upgraded to wlm, my font was there, window sizes, etc etc were all saved - will that Baisoft program do all that?

The Baisoft MSN Backup would backup your winks, dp's, ddp's, ce's and also backgrounds both dynamic and the plain ones. I don't think the window sizes, font and other settings would be saved, but it would hardly take time to change those.

And about Mess Patch, i have heard it can backup things, but what all and how i'm not aware of as i don't use it.

When you run the patch it creates a backup version of the original file (not sure which messenger file this is) so if you want to uninstall it just recreates the backup file, its not really anything you can use to backup winks etc. (im pretty sure anyway)
