Double clicking the system tray icon will not start up more messengers, it will open the messenger which the system tray icon belongs to.
To start up more messengers, you need to...
start up more messengers :/
In other words, simply go to your start menu again and click again on the messenger icon in the menu, or double click again on the messenger executable in Windows Explorer, or use again whatever method you used to start up messenger the first time.
