O.P. Solved
I was going trought the latest threads today, and I was wondering if posts were already solved i.e. script created, or question answered...

Now I saw something on another forum (I believe AndreaVB.com, not spamming, just as a reference)

Add a 'Solved' icon in the thread list... That way you can see which one is sloved, and which one is open for suggestions/help/answers...

On the other forum it works like this:
You post a thread, and if the topicstarter thinks his question is answered he (somewhere) pushes a button/clicks a link 'solved'. If a Mod thinks it is solved they have the ability too. If clicked, an icon will appear in the threads list saying the thread has been solved

So everybody knows they can skip that one... This does not mean it gets closed, you can still do whatever in the thread (if someone thinks of a better solution, or whatever)

Well, what do you guys think about that?

RE: Solved
At least here, what usually happens is a mod or thread starter will edit the thread title and place [Solved] at the beginning.

But almost no-one does that, and a little icon would stand out more (I never saw a topic that had '[solved]' added :S)

RE: Solved
Thats because nothing is ever solved here...

It's only a voluntary thing anyway.
Adding a solved icon would still be voluntary, the thread starter or mod would still have to manually go and change the icon or text

So now I saw 'one'

Personally I thinks it would be much easier (and more used) if you'd have a button for that...

It doesn't have to be implemented though, it was just an idea... I liked it on the other forum, really came in handy

Sounds like a pretty good idea. It might help helpers use their time more effectively. Just because a thread has lots of replies doesn't mean the issue has been resolved.

I'll think about this as something to add to MyBB 1.2.

BTW, here's a screenshot from the board Shondoit mentioned...
