Far less viruses when compared with Windows ;)

I think it depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to do alot of multimedia work, eg. graphics editing, website design, viedo editing, and the like, then go for a mac. Though I'm not sure how well all that would work on a MacBook, if you were serious about doing that stuff then you would probably be better off getting an iMac or something of the sort.

If you just want it for browsing the internet, e-mails, messenger, and stuff like that, then you'd probably be better off with a Windows machine.

A Mac is usually an investment for someone who is serious about doing multimedia stuff, as they are rather expensive (though the Mac Pro is about the cheapest you can get for what it is (even though it is about AUD$4000)).

Nay for me, I like Mac OS X, I like the hardware, but:

1.  Too expensive, unless you really wanna use OS X, you can get a windows laptop much cheaper.
2.  I like small laptops, little laptops, with a usable size screen of course, but I don't get people lugging round large, wide screen laptops, I like my diddy one.  Wide screen is only worth it for DVD addicts.

If cash was just no issue at all, I might go with a mac book, but I don't think they justify the extra cash.

Nay, imo. I'd miss my DirectX based games too much - there's no point paying through the nose for a machine with specs I could get for half the price if it was a PC just to install Windows on it.

I say nay, simply because the support for Macintosh computers isn't brilliant, if you need a part or want an upgrade, then it'll cost a hell of a lot more than it would to replace/upgrade a part in a computer.

That's actually a common misconception, it's been proven that a regular PC with the same specifications as a Mac G5 outperforms the Mac quite a bit.

Why are you asking the question anyway?

Are you thinking of getting one yourself?
