Hiya, i have a problem applying visual styles for xp. It will download, and nothing more.. Go into the folder, click on the msstyle, opens the display settings, and nothing new appears, just the casual windows default themes.

So, why can't i apply visual styles?

Have you patched your system with the Neowin UXTheme Multi-Patcher v4.0 ?: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707: its required to run 3rd party visual styles.
