Can you have a transparent, or no background colour at all? The colours don't mesh well with my current background.

Transparent backgrounds are not possible. Though transparency percentage for the the whole thing could be used. Why not just use a color that suits your desktop?

Simply because my desktop is not one colour. So matching for one colour means that it stands out on another.
