Hey all,

I just got a new burner, LG GSA-H10N 16X 10x DL+R 6X DL-R 12X DVD-Ram Super-Multi Internal DVD Writer (Ivory) OEM w/Software because I screwed up my old one, and when i try to burn with Windows Media Player 11, it says, Connect a burner and restart the Player. I've already (incompletely) burnt stuff with Nero (unsuccessful due to dodgy DVDs).

Solutions?

Have you tried another IDE cable?
Reinstalled Drivers?
Detected by Windows?
go to site and look for newer drivers.

IDE cable??? I mean, I am smart (in comparison to the rest of the grade at my school), but I have no clue which cable is which, and plus, I'm not supposed to open my comp (I've seen enough of it when it was overheating).

What drivers? If you mean the LG DVD Writer Solution disc, then yes. It came with nothing else.

To clarify, I'm almost certain that it wasn't the disc drive's fault. The previous few discs I've burnt (which dates back half a year) were also like that.

hmmm how did you install it without opening it, thinking its internal?

My cousin did it for me.

So for now, I'll use Nero, see what happens. This time, using HP CD-Rs.  Hope it works.

EDIT: !@#@#$!@$#@!@$# WTF???!??????!!

It says somthing about a CRC error...pressed to quickly...



EDIT: Just opened (it was hard to even get the screw out). I think I sse the IDE cable, and just out of curiousity, do you have to switch ide cables when you switch motherboards?

If so, then my cousin forgot to switch ide cables...

Hey all, I returned my H10N and now they give me an H22N. Still doesnt work
