I've been using Messenger Plus! Live for a long time now and I didn't have any real problems with it until now!

I have installed Windows Vista (Final edition - Ultimate version) and then I downloaded WLM 8 (not 8.1 beta) and everything works great. Then I installed Messenger Plus! Live (latest) and when my contacts sends me a message I don't see blinking window (orange in Vista). Without Plus! Live addon it works as it should so I doubt that there's a problem with WLM. Anyone else having this problems? How do I fix this becouse is really anoying thing that you chat with 3 friends and u don't know when somebody reply!

Is it only MP!L or it happens without MP!L. Do you have anything else related to WLM installed except MP!L? Try removing that might solve your problem. If that doesn't wopk heres a temporary script to solve your problem.

That used to happen to me,
when you go to Menu Tools>Options>Alerts and Sounds, can you see any sound? if not try reinstalling, at least that sorted out my problem

Plus! is not currently fully compatible with Vista. In fact Patchou is stuck, he has no idea where the problems fully lie. He is waiting to use the RTM build himself before he can really tackle compatibility with Vista

I've found out that this has to do with TABBED CHAT! When I turn tabbed chat off my windows blinks normal as it should. When I turn tabbed chat ON my windows don't blink! That's the problem so it has to do with MP!L

I have the same problem. And the tabbed window doesn't have a correct image too. (when using ALT+TAB, etc.)

With Vista RTM + Live Messenger latest + the latest Messenger Plus! Live. I seem to be getting this problem too. With tabbed chats enabled and someone talks to me, it doesnt flash but i have to click the conversation numerous times on the taskbar to get it to come back up sometimes.

Solution: Dont use Tabbed chats.

Patchou knows about this problem. As absorbation Said, Patchou is stuck, and cant fix the problem untill he gets his hands on a copy of Vista.

Im willing to give Patchou my copy...
Fully activated of course! (Vista RTM 6000 Final Vista Ultimate)


But I also believe ive found a solution.

1. Uninstall Windows Live and Adobe Flash PLayer and WM!L
2. Install Windows Live
3. Install WM!L
4. Install Flash

It crashes less and it fixs the flashing tabs

Dont ask me why this works, but it seems to fix up WLM(NOT Plus) but by fixing something in WLM it fixes the tabs....

Microsoft recommends doing this to. And 8.1 is very stable on Vista

All the top posts were so dumb! And dont use the excuse of your age(Some of you were 14 and 15) Ive only just turned 15 and i had no trouble reading it

Oh and ive been thinking about this problem, and i think i may be on to something.

Now im not sure why, but when you dont open/close any windows for a bit, (maybe about 5mins) then you quit one, then you quit another one, but ! You see the last two windows STILL open while its closing, then it goes back to normal, then you quit another one and !! Its still there!!!

If im being unclear(which i KNOW i am) ill try and illustrate it

Im talking to Person 1, Person 2, Person 3, Person 4. Ive been talking to all of them for about 20mins.

Person 1 decided to go offline, so i quit his convo, but so does person 4! So i quit that window as well, but while its closing(not closed, but closing) it shows person1 and person 4 being there still then when it closes it just shows 2 and 3.

Its like a phantom convos that come and go quickly. So i think the way WLMP! emulates the tabs isnt working correctly in Vista(probably a code that doesnt work)
