Well recently many people have been asking how to use colours etc in their msn display names, this thread should explain it.

BB code ( Plus! 4.xx)


One colour


[b] Bold text [/b]

[c=?] Coloured name, where ? is colour code [/c]

[a=?] Background in name, where ? is colour code again [/a]

[s] Striked through name [/s]

[u] Underlined name[/u]

[i] Italic name [/i]



Gradients


[c=?] Text colour gradient where ? = starting colour and ' = ending colour [/c=']

[a=?] Background colour gradient where ? = starting colour and ' = ending colour [/a=']


IRC style formating ( Plus! 3.xx)



·& = Italic

·$?,~ = Coloured('?' being text colour, and '~' being background colour.

·# = Bold

·@= Underline

·' = Strike-through

·0 = Stop all formatting (used at end of msn names)


Others:
CTRL + U = Underline
CTRL + K = Colours
CTRL + B = Bold


Note:

To find all colour codes, just push ctrl and R in a conversation and then just copy and paste the number where ever you want it(either as text colour or background colour)
A few examples of colours:



Note2:

Plus! 4.xx can use IRC and BB colours but Plus! 3.xx can only use IRC, or if they use BB code won't be able to view it themselves

Note3:
To customize your msn name from a conversation use /nick then use the Other colour codes i posted above

my friend's got plus! 4.0.0.235 but she uses IRC style formating...how is it possible? so she can have a colored message in the banner on the top of window conversation when she's "busy". how can I get the same function??

Just put one of the colour codes at the end of you msn name

Jimbodude, such posts have been made several times already though..

Anyways, what you call IRC style formatting, is not IRC style formatting at all. In fact those codes are internal codes and should not be used by the normal user directly.

IRC style means using shortcuts, just like in mIRC, hence the name "IRC Style"...
And even if you put in the ascii codes directly, those (the dot and $ stuff) are not the ascii codes which are put in when you use the IRC style shortcuts.

And what about the (!FC) style and all in Plus3?

If you make such posts, do it properly please

with MP!L you are able to use the old formatting codes

and to make the coloured banner you make you make with the IRC style and the you dont put ·0 (stop all formatting) at the end and there you go you should have it

not ·$...

something else you forgot, instead of the index number to define colors, the RGB style of defining colors.
