Treason i not just against the queen then is it? It's against the ruling powers of a particular country. As he was the dictator, I think he might have given himself a pardon on that count lol

I don't think it makes a difference at all whether he is alive or dead. He would never again be allowed to see the free world and nothing more could really be done to him in a prison.

Treason is the disloyality of ONES state.. saddam/hitler's state was not the uk.

There's an interview with the medic of Saddam circeling. He says that he spared the rests of his food, and gave it to the birds when he was allowed to go outside. He talked to him about his childhood, his daugter and how beautiful everything used to be. He never complained about anything in jail, only if he was right he did. He also said he didn't do things for the fun, but he did it all for the future of irak, and therefor he had to make descisions which weren't easy, and he had to stood up. He didn't understand why the americans got in and destroyed it all, and that he loves people. Anyway, he never talked about death, he accepted things as they came. All he requested was sigares and coffee, he claimed it held down his bloodpressure. And it did.

Anyway he payed for his actions

There is no death penalty at all in the UK, it was completely abolished in 1998 to get in line with the human rights laws.
