i just reformated my computer and installed messenger live.  I can log in fine, but when i press the hotmail button to go to my email inbox, i get an error saying that "messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We aer sorry for the inconvenience."   So, I uninstalled "Live" and installed msn messenger 7.5 .    Again, same problem.   Everytime i click the button, it gives me that error and forces me to close my messenger..   what's wrong?  how can I fix this?  It worked fine before i formatted my computer.  please help

Do you have Internet Explorer installed (I know that's silly, because it comes preloaded with it, but you never know)?

Well, did this happen before you formatted? Do you use 8.1 and/or have stuffplug installed? stuffplugs features can probably cause this too

no.. this never happened before.   Back then, i was running messenger 7.5 with stuffplug plugin.. hotmail emails retrieval was no problem.. but now,  i'm running only msn 7.5 without any plugins.   any ideas?

Do you have Windows live mail desktop (beta) installed?

Can you sign in on the hotmail website without using the messenger to open your hotmail?
when you downgraded did you delete the file MSN messenger before you went to 7.5?

Do did you even read the question? she's having problems with messenger crashing when she clicks the mail icon, so of course it'll work like that.

It's a completley different file anyway, the MSN Messenger folder would re-write itself once down/upgraded

i don't sure if it was the beta version or not... which one should i install?  can you post a link?
