ok, when i sign in, it seems to be ok for a couple of seconds, then freezes and doesn't respond to anything accept task manager.

I've tried reinstalling it but it's still the same, i've tried uninstalling it and installing an earlier version, but that has the same problem.

i don't know what to do as i am a tard with computers, please help.

as you can see from other threads lots of other people are experiencing the same issues,, guess its a server problem at the microsoft end

Not quiet HSV, note it's freezing after sign in and wont respond to anything, meaning there is something not right with the messenger installation.

Best trying CookieRevised's reply to Windows Live Messenger BIG PROBLEM!. It's probably your best bet, but beware, following that solution means you may lose data (E.g Custom Emoticons) Unless you back them up.

A possible tool to back things up is MSNBackup Tool.

EDIT: if that then doesn't help, then it's safe to assume it's a server issue, but until the instructions above are cross checked and followed, then you can't just assume that.

Which version of Messenger are you using?

Is you computer slow?

What do you have installed related to Messenger?
