O.P. reverting contacts
when my contacts change their nicknames, msn will show that change.. but after they sign out and i restart my msn, the names are back to the old one again.. is there anyway to change it?

There's no way of changing it.
If you really want their nicknames to be changed after you sign out, then probably you just have to wait a little longer before signing out. The servers have to save those nicknames into your account's database and that might take quite a while.

but.. its quite awhile before i actually sign out.. i have a feeling it doesnt update my the changes at all..

If your using Windows Live Messenger, it could be something to do with the storing of your contact list on your computer. Maybe part of it might be corrupt or something.

Are you using any Messenger related add-ons?

the name is just "PersonalMessage"

This could be because of the fact that you might have disabled storing of your PSM, DP, Address Book etc. The same could be the cause with your psm [Image: msn_tongue.gif].
Tools > Options > Security > This is a shared computer so don't store my Address Book, Display Picture and psm.
