I have a recent install of Vista and Messenger 8.1 Final with no patch at all. For some reason, Messenger does not display and toast notifications for me, like when somebody goes online.
Does anyone here running Vista experience the same problem?

well yeah, I don't beleive this could be a bug, seems to big to me... but still, it's all freshly installed and it simply doesn't work.
Also, while I'm on the subject of toasts, I noticed a display glitch in the Messenger Plus! toasts then they hide automatically after a couple of seconds. Just before the toast begins its animation to disappear, the toast kinda flashes for a split of second and it looks bad. I suspect my video card driver but, just in case, if you could check....

Nope, toasts working fine here ... i have not seen the Msg Plus! toast bad fade....weird...
the thing i do suspect is that i don't get the notifications for some messages, dunno why

Messenger toasts appear fine for me too.
Plus toasts slightly flicker like Eljay said.
Also, the plus toasts appear on the bottom right of the screen, and i have my taskbar on the top of my screen. So the plus toasts should appear where the taskbar is.
