Can anyone tell me if there is a way to prevent changes in your own status from showing up in the event viewer? Seems like a bit of a silly thing to record...

I don't think you can change what's being added into the event log in a script You can only add your own custom items.

Uhh. I found a work around. Add yourself as a contact. Then go to the event viewer preferences, -> filter -> un-check your own sn / email address.

This only works if you add yourself, and adds the annoyance (or pleasure!) of an extra contact in your list.
