Is there any way to disable the <enter> key from sending a message and instead inserting a new line?

Ive had a poke around the FAQs and had a search but havn't found anything. It's driving me insane. alt+s to send works (yay) and has always been my preferred way of sending an IM since...well, forever.

Well, at least I can tell you that shift-enter inserts a new line, but I have no idea on how to replace the original functionality. Perhaps doable with scripts (anyone?), but I don't think so.
