When Messenger is running, it frequently crashes.

I run SP3 and MP!L with Messenger...with both running it crashes very often. With neither, there are no crashes. With just SP3 there are no crashes. With just Plus! there are crashes every once in a while. With both it crashes a LOT.

I've seen threads with similar problems that have been dismissed as not caused by Plus!, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 8.01.0178
Messenger Plus! Live 4.20.0.262
Stuffplug 3.0.387 (currently disabled)

I know you probably already tried, but if you hasn't, try to reinstall WLM and Plus! and see if the problem is gone.

I've tried that, it doesn't help at all.

Maybe this isn't a problem soley with plus? maybe there's some compatibility errors to do with both programs?

No, because it crashes with just Plus! as well.

I cannot help you if you have SP3 installed. Also please try to disable all your scripts to see if one of them is the cause. Once you'Ve done these checks, if Messenger still crashes, email me and we'll work on that together. Thanks.

I have no scripts running. SP3 has been disabled for a while now, and Plus! still crashes every once in a while.

lol had this problem try downgrading plus go too http://random.menthix.net/MsgPlusLive-411.exe sorted my problem straight away
