I just installed Messenger Plus, and for some reason there is no icon on my contact list.  I have tried reinstalling WLM and Messenger Plus, but that didn't work.  Any tips?

Any other add-ons like sweetim or smiley central?

Otherwise if you can get to Plus!'s Preferences (Plus! -> Preferences) go into the messenger section and ensure "Add Messenger Plus! buttons in contact list" is ticked

actually the exact same thing happened to me too
i don't have any other add- ons and i have both:
"Add Messenger Plus! buttons in contact list"  and
"Add Messenger Plus! buttons in toolbar" ticked

yet i don't have any of the plus! buttons except for the main plus! button on top but nothing works through it as well

tried to reinstall both messenger and the plus add on
nothing works

EDIT:
ok, after reading  "Solution to problems installing Msg Plus! Live- READ BEFORE POSTING"
i found out that reinstalling was not enough
i had to delete the folder C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger as well
so problem solved for me, maybe it will solve yours as well
