O.P. Proxies
Proxies never seem to work for me.

I'm trying to get around the rapidshare 'You have downloaded too many files' message. I've tried numerous things (like ipconfig /flushdns, etc.) but no success. I've downloaded some programs (Tor, Privoxy) but they don't do anything. Note: Bookmarklets do not work for this situation.

Soo.. back to the problem. I have SwitchProxy Firefox extention. Any proxy I try and add just never works. It's simple enough, you click Add on the toolbar, then anonymous, then load a list of proxies.

Click for screenshot

So once I apply the proxies (see the toolbar in screenshot below), I just get 'The connection has times out' or 'Page not found' or 'Server not found'.

Click for screenshot

I don't think it's something I'm doing wrong (tell me if I'm wrong), I think proxies just don't seem to work for some reason?? Any idea why?

But I'm pretty sure you can't get around rapidshare's system.

Transparent proxies won't affect Rapidshare's blocking.

If you're behind a router, go to your routers config page (something like 192.168.1.1) and find the 'restart router' option and wait till the router has restarted. Assuming you have a dynamic IP, you will now have a new one and you won't get the 'You have downloaded too many files' message.

If you're on dial-up, modem etc and have a dynamic IP, just disconnect from the Internet and then reconnect to get a new IP. If you can't find a way to do it via software, pull the plug on your modem/router..

At least this is what works for me

or if you don't have a dynamic IP but you do have an ip range, set your modem/router to give you another ip in your rage :)
