O.P. Two Windows Live Messengers Bug
Hello,

As far as I can tell this is a bug, but after the latest update, then I can no longer run two messengers at once.

The process starts, but the main window and tray icon never appear.

Both checkboxes relating to running two WLMs are checked, I have tried unchecking the e-mail one with no result.

Thank you in advance,
Robert

Uninstall any patches, skins or SMiley central and/or Sweet IM
Make sure it is enabled in plus's prefrences and try again

Or downgrade to the older build of plus - http://www.toggle.com/lv/group/view/kl25311/Messenger_Plus!_Live.htm

PM!L is the only patch / 3rd party mod installed currently.

As I said, it is enabled in PM!L, and the process does start. (If it is disabled, a new process is not started but the main window of the current process should open).

I am considering downgrading, but if it is a bug, best to tell you lot :)

And you have the latest version of Windows Live Messenger installed?

EDIT: Nagamasa: there is nothing changed in the polygamy feature in the latest version. If he uses a previous version that would work just the same...Aka: the chance that the installing latest verion of Plus! is going to change anything is extremely slim.

Yes, Version 8.1.0178.00 WLM
Version 4.21.0.270 MP!L
Version 6.0 (Build 6000) Windows Vista Ultimate

The feature worked fine before the upgrade.

CookieRevised: I thought the code for the polygamy feature may have changed as the option to display what e-mail address is signed in on each message as been added.

Try downgrading as see if the problem is fixed. It could be something not relating to the new build. Report back and hopefully we will know if the problem is to do with the new build :).

Ok, used the installer for the lower version on the link posted above, but it installed Version 4.21.0.270(instead of version 4.20.262), however reinstalling seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks a lot for the help everyone :)
