It's not my internet connection and the troubleshoot doesn't come up with anything. Help?

I have also been getting this error and always getting signed out of msn every 5 minutes.

I have read through those possible solutions, and they did not solve the problem.

Could it be possible that it is because my OS may or may not be legit ?

That could be possible, yes... You should always install the latest fixes (I believe this is even also stated as a solution for this particular error). And if you don't have a legit OS, it could be perfectly possible you don't have the latest Windows updates.

Did this error came up just now, or have you always had problems signing in?

Also, you are running Windows Live Messenger 8.1, no? Or are you using that beta version 8.5?

I have had this problem for the past month, it is just happening more frequently now.

I am currently on the 8.5 version, but 8.1 or 8.5, the same thing happens.

This should be the reason why you were getting this error.  Just be patient and Microsoft should try to fix this problem.

BTW I was just able to log-in myself, so have another try
