I'm sorry if this is a noobish question to ask, but I've asked my friends and they don't seem to know what the problem is either.

I have a mic plugged in...not muted...output sound is on full blast.

When I attempt to send a voice clip, in the chat window a message appears saying "The voice clip could not be recorded"

Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

if you go start->control panel->sound settings->advanced->options->properties->where it says "Adjust audio settings for" choose "recording"->click OK and check that microphone is selected

or run through messenger's audio and video wizard which can be accessed by the tools menu
