I have a contact that have the nickname edited with MsgPlus! The nickname is make with symbols and it is pink with some emoticons... the problem is that I open his profile the nickname in the list change, become black and many symbols become spaces... It happend also when I open the chat window... I can't understand why...

Wait, if you're talking about the Right click on contact > Messenger Plus!'s opitions > Contact Information, it's normal to happen that...

Edit: Now, if you're talking about the Contact Card (feature of WLM), here is normal (the colors appears)...

Nicknames are only shown in color on Messenger windows, because messenger Plus! colors them.

If you open contact's profile in a web browser, you won't see it in color.

And for chat windows, probably you are using WLM 8.5 but you aren't using Messenger Plus! 4.23. Update your Messenger Plus! (The last version is 4.23 now)

Note: Sharing Folder windows of WLM can't also show nicknames in color.

I have Windows Vista, Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta (but this problem appears also in the 8.1) and Messenger Plus! Live 4.23 (last release)...

can you take a screenshot of the problem yo usee in the contact list?

with this last update of Messenger Plus! I remember I don't see the error in the contact list. However the nickname was as you see it in the screenshot that I posted before, but it was in contact list and it appeared when I clicked for view the contact profile..

Many contact tell me that also they have this problem with others contact
