O.P. Burning Tools
I just got my dad's relatively new DVD-RAM drive (LG) because it didn't work on his new Core 2 Duo PC. I want to burn a DivX .avi but Nero SmartStart (what was installed from the CD) isn't helping.

Any recommendations?

I'll ask the same question..

All socket 775 motherboards (aka Core 2 Duo support) include both IDE and SATA interfaces, so.. Why wouldn't it work?

Maybe the font hasn't got a SATA power connector?.. Hardly, most (decent) recent ones have

The driver update required that he set it as Master (that worked fine) and on the Secondary IDE. Seeing as a P5B mobo doesn't have two IDEs, it didn't work.

Anyway thanks for your suggestions guys. :)

I personally prefer to use ConvertX2DVD, you can find versions of it for free if you look ;)

That program is awesome, it's my main program, and I've only just realised it burns to DVD's as well and not just creates the files =o

Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 will convert and burn them nicely, you can make your own menus too. Converting one now actually =]
