I would like to suggest a new function in MP!L

When we choose the option to log conversations, we should have an option to select the time that the log will be saved, i.e., after x days/weeks/months/years, the logs of the Month y were automatically deleted from the computer!!

I agree, it'd be nice to see logs being automatically deleted after a certain amount of time

Can't you do that with a script ;p?

Sure.

But it would be relativly complex, as it needs to read out the Windows user's locale date/time settings and Plus!'s log file settings, etc...

It also needs to take in account that files can be locked, etc

It isn't as straightforward as it seems at first sight though...

EDIT: Not to mention that the names of the folders could have been  changed compared to what is being used now. The same issues described here make it very difficult to make something properly and always working (without a lot of tweaking and interaction from the user).

A script would be appropriate for that. I don't want to add anything built in Plus! that deletes log files (there's already a bug with encrypted chat logs that I need to fix and that I still can't find).

As it is complex, and I don't have any experience, can anyone do it for me, and for all the people that don't know how to do it?
