hey, im on a laptop here and i cant see any display pictures or smileys.. but it works on my other computer :/ can anyone help me?

and i have the "Show display pictures from others" thing enabled :/

Maybe your contact hasn't set a display picture? Maybe you were workin with Windows Messenger by accident?

You can try to turn off "Show display pictures from others", log out..exit  and than restart and retick that option. For emoticons and custom emoticons to show you need to check "Show emoticons" and "Show custom emoticons" in Tools > Options > messages.

hmm, no that didnt work , it seems as if i cant see custom display pics, aswell as the smileys, i can see the default ones :/

Try

Tools > Options > Messages > Check off 'Show Custom Emoticons'

hmm, k um... i dont know what the hell i did

but out of nowhere, i wasnt even touching anything, and it started to show up :/
