Hi,

I'm using messenger 7.0 with Messenger Plus 3.63.148.  Lately I've had a problem receiving messages, they don't seem to pop up on my task bar anymore.  Someone will be sending me messages and I won't know it until they call and ask why I'm not responding.  If I click on their name in my contact list to open a dialogue box the message history from them appears, but, I don't have any way of knowing its there without them telling me.  I haven't added or changed anything to msn, not sure how I ended up with this problem.

Go to Tool > Options > Alerts and Sounds and make sure the "Display alerts when a message is received" option is ticked.

thats selected.  the weird part is that it doesn't happen with each contact.

I upgraded to live messenger, but, it still does it.  some contacts just can't seem to message me.
