I tried out MessengerDiscovery Live

and found some of the features great, but it made my computer play up a bit so i removed it. Im sure it is possible to create a script/scripts that can do these features, as i have seen it done

Some of the better functions include:
Advanced Contact Manager
- See contacts who have deleted you
- See Yahoo! contacts
- View contact MSN/Windows Live Messenger version
- Messages received count
- Messages sent count
- Message ratio statistic
- See the last message received and when
- See the last time contacts came online (since MessengerDiscovery was installed)
- See when contacts came online (since MessengerDiscovery was installed)
- Display picture stealing

Advanced Contact Functions
- Remove contact 'now playing' and personal messages
- Alert when a contact returns from away/busy/idle
- Alert when a contact comes online
- Alert when a contact goes offline
- Alert when a contact deletes you
- Alert when a contact adds you
- Alert when a contact opens a conversation
- Alert when a contact closes a conversation

Instant Message Tools
- Imitate your contacts (using command !imitate)
- Auto reply to certain messages (accepts wild cards too)
- Message holding while away/busy/etc.
- Conversation nick name
- Remove your 'is typing' message
- Flash scroll lock upon receiving message
- Always be shown as 'typing a message'
- Remove your 'is recording' message
- Stop window flashing
- Show IM window upon receiving a message
- Auto response to any message

Protection
- Block web links from un-trusted contacts

many of the features you list are already in Plus! and many others are already available in scripts

the scripts database has grown at a huge rate in the last 2-3 months...
I should check it more regularly

Features that are in MessengerDiscovery Live but arent in Plus!/scripts:

View contact MSN/Windows Live Messenger version
See the last message received and when (depends how you interpret this)
Imitate your contacts (using command !imitate) (one of the most sought after scripts if not the most. requires proxy usage but script devs are getting close and close to getting it 100% working )
Be shown as 'using a mobile device'
Be shown as 'using web messenger'
Be shown as owning a webcam (these 3 being again proxy related)
Avoid being shown as idle (not too dificult. there MAY be a script already)
Nick name history (again depends how your interpret it)
Custom CVR
Messenger protocol debugging
Messenger server error logging

Is this really needed? If a feature isn't able to be used with your contact then it will tell you when you try to use it....

From what I gather, this is like in the bottom of the chat as a feature of Messenger itself or like "Last Chat" in the contact information of Plus.

Aren't the three of these features of Messenger itself? It may not use a proxy method but it works as it is the protocol being used.

Are those two really that important for anyone other than a developer of add-ons?  In all honesty I cannot see a purpose for these for any normal user.


The only thing that has not been done due to its difficulty is the imitate and if someone were to want such a feature I would just send them to MessengerDiscovery to do it rather than someone trying to make a script to get it done which is immensely difficult.

Would this be needed, MD2 is on its way, fully plus compatible, and its got new things in it to.

The shot to do is make some of MD's things work using plus scripts. I got a few in the works .

This isnt a thread about MessengerDiscovery Live, this is a thread about requesting MessengerDiscovery Live features in Plus!.

No, it means so you can show yourself as using a mobile, when you're not. Or show yourself as being on webmessenger, when you're not, etc.
