It's good to see I'm not the only one who despises this new installer.. I don't have an habit of criticizing new Messenger versions but this time, really, this sucks.

The installer took for ever. For that only I can imagine a big amount of people cancelling before the end.

Yeah, I didn't even like the basic WLInstaller that was bundled with the 8.5 Beta, it was quite buggy when I used it then, and I would imagine it still is.

PS. Menthix - your site doesn't appear to be set up to handle MSI as a downloadable MIME-type - Firefox just tries to display it in the browser here, which isn't very helpful.

I just found on how to install it on  Windows Vista 64 bit but not sure if it works still you can try it out.

Haha yes anyways no problem.

I can't get this thing to patch at all what editor program am I supposed to be using, I've tried xvi32, cygnus and reshack searching for 1B9F0 can't find it

xvi32: open WLinstaller.exe
Address > Goto > Hexadecimal > "$1B9F0" > OK > Change > Save > Run.

It's patched, launches but does not download anything

You can download and install http://random.menthix.net/mpl_mirror/Live%20Messe...8.816%20-%20EN.msi. The end result is the same as http://www.anti-tgtsoft.com/?p=14 should do (well, i think... if the HEX patching is only to allow you to run the Windows Live Installer under 64bit).

Thanks but I also use Mail and writer aswell and fancy trying Photo GAllery, also I am wondering if there is any difference between the US and GB download pages (I know photogallery beta 1 was in US whatever and didn't work)
