O.P. Cannot start conversations
Hey guys, when I click on a contact, a message pops up saying 'you cannot start a conversation with...........   you may want to try again.'

Anyone know what's wrong here?

Forgive me for not searching the forums, but 35,000 odd threads..... zzzzzzz

If you used any patches, re-install Messenger.
