I have tried to search this question on these forums, and using google. It seems, though, that any time I try to search anything relevant to my question the words used are just to varied to receive any decent response... So any help would be excellent =]

Is there any way to find out, quickly and easily, whether someone on my contacts list has Plus! installed? Whether it be a script or a simple command of some sort. I just want to know if I use a Plus! feature, if the person I am talking to will just look at their screen in a strange way and send a message back saying "WTF" or they actually receive something that makes sense on their end...

Of course yes I could just ask them if they have it... But I just want something a little more... Efficient.

you can use "/ping", if the contact has plus then you'll get a pong reply e.g. Pong! [01sec]. but this shows up in the conversation, so atm its easiest just to ask them, if they say no. point them in the direction of the site

Mm yes, that is one option I had found...
I was hoping for something a little... less "WTF"ish if you know what I mean...
Like they will still see a message sent saying "Ping Request" or whatever it is, correct?

Your contact will see:

Ping? [msgplus]

---

and the proper reply to this is something like:

code:

---

3Pong! [     ]

---

But there is some other character in front of the 3 i think.

As a small note: ping command may be mislead you, because there is a registry setting which prevents Plus! to send replies to Ping requests. So if you receive the reply, it means your contact have Messenger Plus!, but if not your contact may still have Plus!, (a small possibility though but worthy to keep in mind).
