O.P. Changing WLM Sounds to ICQ sounds
I didn't really know where to put this, so I'm sorry if it doesn't belong in here. :S

I'm an old ICQ user, I'm sure most of you know what it is, and for you who dont: it's just another IM program.

I liked a lot the sounds they used, so I downloaded them to my computer. I already changed the ones I can on my WLM, but the problem is, that ICQ uses sounds also for when I send a msg, and when I type a letter, or delete it, with the Backspace or the Delete button.

My question is: Can I change those sounds on WLM? If not, is there any script that will allow me to do so? And if not again, is there any guy out there who know how to do scripts that can make one for this? :D

I would REALLY appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance :D

RE: Changing WLM Sounds
Go to C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger and you should see sound files.

Just replace your ones with them and make shure the name is the same.

online = is the one when someone is online
newalert = when you get an alert
new email = when you get a new email
nudge = when you get a nudge
phone = is the phoning one
type =  sent you a message

Or you can do it with plus.

Plus>Prefs>Customize> Event notifications

O.P. RE: Changing WLM Sounds
Thanks for answering, but I already changed those sounds.
The thing is, I want to hear a sound when I press Enter and send MY message, or whenever I type a letter, or erase a letter.

I guess ICQ users are most likely to understand what I'm looking for.

Could you attach the sound files for ICQ? I can make you a script then. :)

Thanks a lot you guys :D :D :D
I attached a rar file with the sounds.
I also added 2 more sounds I'd like (A)
Each file has the name of the action I'd like the sound to do.
(Ignore the "Alert" sound) :)

Could you also make something so I can enable or disable each sound separately? Because I think the Sign In sound will eventually annoy me a lot. If it's a lot of trouble then don't bother on doing that, I'll just disable the whole plugin :)

I usually don't like asking for things, but when I heard the ICQ sounds, a lot of very old memories from my childhood came back :D

Thanks for whatever you'll do to help me :D

Matt.

Script finished! :-)
I really love the sounds, and I'm going to use this script myself!

I know the Shift+Enter thing doesn't work correctly, and I don't know how to fix it. However I think it works good as it is right now.
You can disable the Sign-in sound by changing the first line, just change it to:
code:
var EnableSignIn = false;

.plsc File Attachment: ICQSounds.plsc (25.73 KB)

Yeahhhh!!! :D :D :D

I love it! :D

Thank you so much!

The only thing is, besides the shift thing you already know (btw, it doesn't matter cause it seems as if it was working) is that every time someone signs in, theres a different sound that the one I selected on my msn. Actually, I listen to both sounds, the one I selected (on tools/options/alerts and sounds), and the one you used with the plugin.

I noticed it was my mistake, I wasn't clear about that. Sorry :$
I want to listen to the "Signin" sound each time I connect to my msn, when my contacts are loading, or before, or somewhere there, not each time someone goes online on my contact list. :P
I know it's probabbly a hard thing to do, and if you can't it doesn't matter, I already love the plugin :D

But the rest is great :D  Thanks a lot :D
I Love You :D
lol
